About Me

Special thanks to Alexis Ikemba, one of our 5th grade students, for her wonderful iPad drawing.

The purpose of this site is to give you a glance at the things St. John’s Episcopal School of Dallas is doing with Project Based Learning and with our 1:1 iPad program. St. John’s is an independent pre k through 8th grade school. I’ll admit that the majority of my 25 years of teaching has been with early childhood and lower school, but I do enjoy working with the “big” kids, too. I’m currently working as a technology integration specialist.

I have had the privilege of completing the Buck Institute’s online courses and have participated in intensive training at last year’s PBL World  Conference in Napa, California. Our school also has a close working relationship with EdTeachTeacher. I have been fortunate enough to attend ETT iPad Summits as well as presenting at the last summit in Boston. I’ve also presented several times at the TCEA annual convention in Austin, Texas, the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools, and at New Tech High in Coppell, Texas. This means that I’m an old dog who strives to learn new tricks.

My hope is that you’ll find something inspiring and practical while taking a glance at our work. If you would like more information about any of the PBLs that we’ve planned or about our 1:1 iPad program, please leave me a comment and I’ll get back with you. Teaching is all about sharing!
